Taman Ayun Temple is located in Mengwi village, Badung regency, Bali. This place can be reached about 30 minutes from Denpasar City. Taman Ayun Temple was originally built as a tourist place of the royal family of Mengwi. Built in 1634 by the first king of Mengwi kingdom named I Gusti Agung Putu. Pura with this beautiful park in 2002 proposed by the Government of Bali to UNESCO to be included in the World Heritage List. Taman Ayun Temple has undergone several repairs.
Major repairs were carried out in 1937. In 1949 there were improvements to the great kori, gate jaws, and the making of large wishes. The third improvement was 1972 and the last was 1976. Taman Ayun Temple Complex occupies a land area of 100 x 250 m2, composed of an outer court and three inner courts, which are increasingly inwardly becoming higher. The outer court called Jaba, is located on the outer side of the pool. From the outer court there is a bridge across the pond, leading to a gate of a gate.

This place is often used for meetings and performing arts. There is also a fountain that leads to the 9 corners of the wind. The second area is called Madya Mandala or Jaba Tengah. Here there is a meeting hall called Aling-aling Pengubengan. And the last part (third) is called Main Mandala or Offal. This section is the main mock site (meru), and only opened during the piodalan ceremony.

The visitors can enjoy the area around the temple from a height by climbing the bale kulkul located to the left of the gate.
